Robotics & Age Groups Club


STEAM Robotics Clubs
In addition to academic programming, students are encouraged to participate in weekly Robotics Clubs following After-school programming. These clubs take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30PM- 8PM during the academic school year.

DISCOVERY KIDS | Ages 7-9
Students will:

Design and build a working model over several months that address the season’s challenges using robotic Legos.
-
Create a presentation display to facilitate their group presentation.
-
Learn teamwork and gracious professionalism.
-
Engage in live research with professionals to prepare their innovation project.
-
Code the motorized parts of their display project.
-
Engage in public speaking as they present their projects before a panel of judges during the competition.
-
Maintain an engineering notebook that documents their design and its functions.
-
Receive achievement awards for their involvement.

LEGO CHALLENGERS | Ages 9-12
Students will:
-
Design, build and code a motorized robot using robotic Legos over several months that address the season’s challenges.
-
Design passive and motorized attachments to complete the missions on a strategically designed game board.
-
Compete with their robots against other teams in head-to-head tournament competitions.
-
Create a presentation display to facilitate their group presentation.
-
Learn teamwork and gracious professionalism.
-
Maintain an engineering notebook that documents their design and its functions.
-
Engage in public speaking as they present their projects before a panel of judges during the competition.

FIRST TECH TEAM | Ages 12-18
Students will:
-
Design, build and code a motorized metal robot over several months that address the season’s challenges.
-
Design motorized attachments to complete the missions on a strategically designed mission field.
-
Compete with their robots against other teams in head-to-head tournament competitions.
-
Create a presentation display to facilitate their group presentation.
-
Learn teamwork and gracious professionalism.

Maintain an engineering notebook that documents their design and its functions towards an
award in the engineering category. -
Engage in public speaking as they present their projects before a panel of judges during the competition.
-
Have the opportunity to engage in graphic design, including but not limited to website design to compete for an award in that division.
-
Students may participate in outreach activities towards an award for community engagement.
